(auch Social), ein seit Mitte 1997 in Deutschland verbreiteter Makrovirus, der sich in Dokumentvorlagen des Textverarbeitungsprogramms Word versteckt. Anders als andere Makroviren ist dieser Computervirus nicht sprachabhängig, sondern ermittelt die benötigten Namen anhand der Struktur des Menüs in Word, sodass auch ein ursprünglich englischer Virus mit der deutschen Version von Word aktiviert werden kann. Dabei werden die ursprünglichen Makros in der allgemeinen Dokumentvorlage Normal.dot gelöscht, neue Makros erzeugt und von dort auf andere Dokumente übertragen. Nur das Makro namens Cap (daher der Name des Virus) enthält wichtige Funktionen des Virus, alle anderen Makros rufen nur Unterfunktionen auf. Bei Befall mit dem Virus sind wichtige Systemfunktionen (z. B. Datenbearbeitung oder Löschen von Dateien) blockiert. Der CAP-Virus kann nur entfernt werden, indem man sämtliche Virenmakros aus der Normal.dot sowie anderen infizierten Dokumenten löscht.
